RPG-7

The RPG-7 is a widely popular grenade launcher model based on the platform of the RPG-2 antitank grenade launcher. The RPG-7 is a reloadable, shoulder fired, single-shot, smoothbore, no-recoil launcher. The varieties of grenades fired from the RPG-7 are loaded in the front of the 40mm milled steel tube, protruding from the end. Notable grenades fired from the RPG-7:
- The standard PG-7VL HEAT warhead used for most vehicles and fortified targets
- The PG-7VR tandem dual-HEAT warhead for defeating modern heavily-armored vehicles
- The TBG-7V (thermobaric) warhead and the OG-7V (fragmentation) anti-personnel rounds

After the grenade is launched from the weapon (10-12 meters) via a gunpowder charge, the rocket motor will ignite and sustain fin-stabilized flight for another ~500 meters reaching velocities up to 295 meters per second. The RPG-7 model has made such an impact on battlefields and city streets across the world that some considered it to be the most successful grenade launcher ever produced.
